Where Club Med Michès sits and where we stop

Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda is on the north-east coast beyond Macao, reached by the road over the hills from the Punta Cana side — scenic, paved, and slower than the highway numbers suggest. From La Romana the realistic time is two and a half to three hours, and we quote it that way rather than promising less. The resort has one gated entrance and four villages inside; your check-in is central, so the drop-off is simple once you are through the gate. For this distance we always recommend a private car: a shared shuttle to Miches can add hours of other people's stops, while yours is a single non-stop run with a driver who has done the road before.

How long is the drive from LRM to Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda?
2 h 30 – 3 h in normal traffic. Two and a half to three hours from LRM, the last part on the mountain road down to Playa Esmeralda. The car is yours alone, so there are no other pickups or hotel stops on the way.

The run is perfectly comfortable in a private car, but it is a long drive, so we dispatch earlier, carry water and build in a comfort stop if you want one. Your vehicle goes straight to Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda with no other pickups.
Is this the same price as Bayahibe?
No — Miches is $170 Standard and $240 VIP one-way per vehicle, while Bayahibe hotels are $40 Standard and $79 VIP. Miches is farther from the airport than Bayahibe, so the rate is $170 / $240, not $40 / $79. If your booking is actually at a Bayahibe resort, tell us the property name on WhatsApp and we quote the Bayahibe rate instead.
What time should we leave Miches for a flight from La Romana?
Four hours before an international departure. The drive is 2 h 30 – 3 h and the mountain section does not reward rushing, so the extra margin covers weather and the airport check-in.
