La Romana golf course transfers: tee times, clubs and drivers

The courses and how far they really are

Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and The Links all sit inside Casa de Campo, 10 to 20 minutes from LRM and 5 to 15 minutes from a Casa de Campo villa. From Bayahibe or Dominicus the same courses are 25 to 40 minutes.

Guavaberry Golf & Country Club at Juan Dolio is 45 to 60 minutes west, and La Estancia, just outside La Romana on the Bayahibe road, is 10 to 20 minutes from most hotels in town.

Punta Espada in Cap Cana and the Puntacana Resort courses are a different trip: 1 h 15 to 1 h 45 each way from La Romana or Casa de Campo. That is a full-day booking, not a quick morning ride, and it is quoted as a day trip with the driver staying with you.

Working backwards from your tee time

Courses want you at the pro shop 30–45 minutes before the tee time for check-in, rental clubs, carts and the range. Dispatch adds the drive time and a small buffer, so a 07:30 tee time at Teeth of the Dog from Bayahibe usually means a 06:15–06:30 lobby pickup.

Early-morning roads are quiet, which is why first-light rounds are easy to plan. Afternoon rounds are the ones that need care: the La Romana and Bayahibe roads between 15:00 and 18:00 can add 10–20 minutes, so the desk quotes an earlier pickup rather than risking a missed slot.

Send the tee time exactly as the course confirmed it. If the course moves you to another slot, one WhatsApp message is enough to shift the pickup — there is no rebooking fee.

Clubs, trolleys and choosing the vehicle

A standard sedan comfortably carries two golfers with two stand bags. Two golfers with hard travel cases, or three or four golfers with full bags, belong in an SUV or minivan. Eight or more golfers with bags is a van, sometimes two vehicles.

Travel cases take far more room than the bag inside them. If you are travelling with hard cases, say so — that single detail changes which vehicle the desk sends. Renting clubs at the course frees the whole boot and often makes a smaller vehicle enough.

Push trolleys, shoe bags and cool boxes count too. Declare everything when you book and nothing gets left on the pavement at 06:15.

Waiting driver or round-trip pickup

For a normal four-to-five hour round, most golfers book a drop-off and a separate pickup. You message the driver when you reach the 17th, and the vehicle is at the clubhouse by the time you have settled the card.

A driver who stays with you for the whole round is hourly service, quoted separately and confirmed in advance — it is not hidden inside a one-way transfer price. It makes sense when a group wants bags, spare shoes and shopping in the vehicle all day, or when the course is far from your hotel.

Either way the total is agreed before the day, per vehicle rather than per golfer, with taxes and normal road tolls included.

Golf weeks, multiple courses and the airport bookends

If you are playing three or four courses in a week, send the whole schedule in one message. Dispatch blocks the vehicle for each morning, keeps the same driver where possible, and quotes each leg as a fixed price so there is no daily negotiation.

Arrival day matters as much as the rounds. Tell the desk you are bringing clubs when you book the airport transfer, so the vehicle that meets you at LRM actually fits the bags. The same applies to the departure: oversized bags need the earlier end of the departure buffer, because airline oversize counters take longer than the normal queue.

How to book

Send the course, date, tee time, number of golfers, number of bags and your hotel or villa on WhatsApp. Dispatch replies with the pickup time, the vehicle and one fixed total.

In high season, courses and vehicles both fill up: book the transfer as soon as the tee time is confirmed, ideally a few days ahead for Christmas, New Year and Easter weeks. Pay the driver in cash or by card when the round is over.

Do golf bags fit in a normal car?

Can the driver wait during our round?

Yes, as an hourly booking quoted in advance. Most golfers instead book a drop-off and message the driver from the 17th hole for the pickup.

Can you take us to Casa de Campo for Teeth of the Dog?

Yes. Punta Espada and the Puntacana Resort courses are 1 h 15 to 1 h 45 each way from La Romana or Casa de Campo, so they are booked as a full-day trip with the driver, not a short transfer.

What happens if the round runs long or the course delays our slot?

Message the driver. For a booked pickup we adjust the time at no extra cost; for an hourly booking the extra time is agreed before it is charged.

Can you handle a group of eight or more golfers?

Yes. Eight to fourteen golfers with bags travel in a van, or two vehicles when the bag count is high. The price is per vehicle, not per golfer.
