Arriving at LRM, Flying Home from PUJ or SDQ: Plan Both Transfers

Practical planning · updated October 2026

You can arrive at La Romana Airport (LRM) and fly home from Punta Cana (PUJ) or Las Américas (SDQ). Plan the arrival transfer and the final hotel-to-airport journey as separate legs, with both flights and the exact properties in one itinerary. Ask for written confirmation of each route, price and pickup; an ordinary LRM return booking does not describe this journey.

Different airports: what actually changes?

The first transfer starts at your arrival airport. The last starts at the property where you spend your final night and ends at your departure airport. Those endpoints matter more than the word ‘return’. If you are still choosing flights, first compare LRM, PUJ and SDQ for your holiday.

A holiday with nights at a hotel is different from a same-day flight connection. For a direct connection, use the LRM–PUJ airport transfer or LRM–SDQ airport transfer information instead. Airport-to-airport fares do not automatically price a hotel pickup.

Connecting to another flight on the same day? Read how to plan an airport change from LRM to PUJ or SDQ, including arrival formalities, baggage and the onward airline's deadlines.

Put both flights and every overnight stay on one itinerary

Write down the arrival and departure airport codes, local dates, airlines and flight numbers. Copy the full hotel names from your reservations, with the dates of each stay. For an overnight flight, use the actual local arrival date. Make the final hotel unmistakable if you change properties.

Example 1: LRM arrival, Dominicus stay, PUJ departure

Arrange the LRM transfer to Dominicus for your inbound flight. Separately request a quote from that exact Dominicus property to PUJ for the homebound flight. Do not select ‘hotel to LRM’ and assume the destination will be corrected later. The departure confirmation must name PUJ, your hotel and your flight.

Example 2: Casa de Campo, Santo Domingo, then SDQ

Start with the LRM transfer to Casa de Campo. If you then stay in Santo Domingo, arrange the hotel-to-hotel journey separately. Your final airport pickup starts at the Santo Domingo property, not Casa de Campo. Santo Domingo city and SDQ airport are different destinations; specify the airport code rather than just ‘Santo Domingo’.

Compare the full transport cost before booking flights

Add the confirmed arrival transfer, any hotel move and the final airport transfer to the airfare. The published prices from LRM describe the routes stated there; they are not a tariff for every hotel-to-PUJ or hotel-to-SDQ ride. Ask for each leg and the combined total in writing. Do not assume the standard 5% round-trip discount applies to an itinerary using different airports; have any discount confirmed for your actual booking.

Confirm the last pickup for the correct airport

Work backwards from the airline’s check-in and baggage deadlines, then allow for the drive from the actual final property, traffic, loading and gate access. Ask dispatch to confirm the pickup time for that route. LRM departure advice cannot simply be reused for PUJ or SDQ. If a flight or hotel changes, send the new details and obtain an updated route, pickup time and price before relying on the original plan.

The checklist to send for an accurate quote

Send both airport codes, local flight dates, flight numbers and airlines; every property and stay date; passenger count, children’s ages and requested seats; suitcase count and large items; villa or gate access instructions; and every planned stop. Request a written confirmation for each leg showing origin, destination, date, pickup arrangements and vehicle price. See how pickup and transfer requests work before sending the itinerary.

Get both journeys confirmed

Prepare both flights and the exact properties, then request the routes, pickup arrangements and written total for your itinerary.

How to request your transfers

Questions we get on this

Is this an ordinary round-trip transfer?
Not when the arrival and departure airports differ. Describe the actual journeys and request a quote for each leg rather than relying on the ordinary LRM return estimate.
What if we move hotels before flying home?
The departure pickup must use your final property. Send the new address and ask for the route, pickup time and price to be reconfirmed.
Can the LRM–PUJ or LRM–SDQ price be used for our hotel pickup?
Not automatically. Those pages describe airport-to-airport routes. A hotel pickup needs its own origin, destination and written quote.
What should we check before confirming both transfers?
Check airport codes, local dates, both flight numbers, property names, passenger and luggage details, and the price and pickup arrangements for each leg.
