Where Bayahibe sits and how access works

Bayahibe village is the small, walkable rental heart of the area, 25 to 35 minutes from LRM: apartments above shops, little villa blocks a street or two back from the sand, and a handful of gated residences on the edge of the village. Almost none of it is signposted the way a resort is, and several of the inner streets are narrow or one-way, so the driver needs the building name and the unit number rather than just the area. Hosts here very often meet guests themselves or leave a key with a neighbour or a shop, so tell us who is handing over the key and where they will be standing — that single detail is what keeps a late arrival from standing in the street. If your host describes the last lane as too tight for a car, we stop at the closest point a vehicle can reach and you finish the last metres on foot or with the host, which is entirely normal here.

How the pickup works

3. 3Your driver waits in arrivals with a name sign, just past customs.
4. 4Direct 25–35 minute drive into Bayahibe village and drop-off at your building door, coordinated with your host or key holder.

A villa or apartment is not a hotel lobby, so four details make the difference between a smooth arrival and a slow one:

• The community name exactly as your host writes it.
• The house, villa or apartment number.
• Any gate instruction, guard-list name or access code your host gave you.
• Whether the final lane is car-accessible or golf-cart only.
