Tortuga Bay is the small Oscar de la Renta–designed villa hotel inside Puntacana Resort & Club, with its own gate, its own beach section and a reception that is separate from the Westin's. Guests arriving from La Romana have a one hour twenty-five to one hour forty drive on good road, and the only detail that matters at the end is which gate: saying "Puntacana Resort" puts you at the main estate entrance, while saying "Tortuga Bay" takes the car to the villa reception where a buggy meets you. We run this transfer in a clean, air-conditioned sedan or SUV with water on board, and we hold the price in writing — including for late-night landings, when a private car is the only sensible option.
