Where Whala!Bayahibe sits and where we stop
Whala!Bayahibe sits on the edge of Bayahibe village, a short walk from the fishing harbour where the Saona boats leave, which is why divers and day-trippers choose it over the bigger Dominicus properties. The drive from LRM is twenty-five to thirty-five minutes: airport exit, La Romana bypass, then the Bayahibe road. The village streets are narrow and the last stretch is slow, so the driver stops at the hotel entrance itself rather than on the main road — worth knowing if you are travelling with dive gear. Early Saona departures leave around eight in the morning, so if you land the evening before, a straight run in a private car is the difference between unpacking and hunting for a taxi.
