Where Cap Cana sits and how access works
Some travellers land at La Romana and stay on the Punta Cana side, and Cap Cana is the most common of those runs: 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 from LRM on good road, then the strictest access control in the country. Every vehicle passes the Cap Cana checkpoint, where the guard compares the driver and the guest name against the list the owner or rental manager filed; without that registration the car is turned around no matter who is inside. Send the community or residence name inside Cap Cana, the villa number, and the name your host used to register the arrival. Past the checkpoint the boulevards run for several minutes and the villa clusters are not signed for visitors, so the villa number matters as much as the community. Tell us if a golf cart is the only way onto the final lane and we agree the stopping point with your host in advance.
