Lopesan Costa Bávaro is one of the newest and largest hotels on the Bávaro strip, with a covered arrivals area wide enough for several vehicles and a check-in hall that fills up whenever a group flight lands. Arriving privately from La Romana avoids that rhythm entirely — you reach the door when your car reaches it, not when a shuttle has finished its round. The drive is one hour forty to two hours, east through Higüey and onto the Bávaro coast road. Because the resort is large, mention if you have a Unique room: the dedicated check-in is a separate desk and knowing it in advance saves you a walk with luggage.
