Riu Bambu is the family hotel on Arena Gorda beach. It is distinct from the nearby Riu Palace hotels and Riu Republica. Choose Bambu in the booking form, even when an older reservation calls it ClubHotel Riu Bambu. The RIU brand alone is too broad to identify the reception where your driver should take you after arrival at LRM. Your private transfer starts at La Romana International Airport (LRM). The published journey time is an estimate for normal traffic and excludes immigration and baggage collection. Not especially — it is 1 h 45 – 2 h 05 from LRM, out along the eastern coast rather than in the La Romana and Bayahibe cluster. The run is perfectly comfortable in a private car, but it is a long drive, so we dispatch earlier, carry water and build in a comfort stop if you want one. Your vehicle goes straight to Riu Bambu with no other pickups.
Is this the same price as Bayahibe?
No — Arena Gorda is $125 Standard and $190 VIP one-way per vehicle, while Bayahibe hotels are $40 Standard and $79 VIP. Arena Gorda is farther from the airport than Bayahibe, so the rate is $125 / $190, not $40 / $79. If your booking is actually at a Bayahibe resort, tell us the property name on WhatsApp and we quote the Bayahibe rate instead.
Is Riu Bambu the same hotel as Riu Palace Bavaro?
No. They are separate hotels, although both use our Arena Gorda transfer zone. Keep Bambu on the written transfer confirmation and tell us if the accommodation is changed before your flight.
