How the $76 is calculated

Arrival $40 + return $40 = $80. Booked together, the return leg drops 5% to $38 and the total is $76 Standard. VIP: $79 + $79 = $158, less 5% on the return, $150. Per vehicle, 1 to 6 passengers, taxes included. A 7–14 passenger van is +$20 Standard or +$40 VIP per leg. Booking both legs matters more in Bayahibe than the saving suggests: the village has no taxi rank worth relying on at 5 a.m., and the cars that are around at that hour quote what they like.

The two legs, explained

We track your flight, so the driver is in the hall when you land rather than when the timetable said you would. He stands past baggage claim with a printed sign showing your name, and the car is yours alone: out of the airport, half an hour east, and down into the village or up to your hotel entrance. Where the streets are too narrow or too cobbled for the car, the driver parks at the nearest point and carries the bags to the door.

For the return we recommend a pickup two and a half hours before the flight. The drive is 25 to 35 minutes; the rest covers checkout and the terminal, which is small enough that one charter wave fills the security line.
