Moon Palace Punta Cana sits on the long Macao stretch north of Arena Gorda, a resort big enough that its own reception hall works like a small terminal — buggies, several check-in desks and a separate tower for the Grand section. Two things decide how smooth your arrival is. First, tell us whether you are booked in the main resort or the Grand, because the drop-off points are different buildings and the buggy ride between them costs you twenty minutes with luggage. Second, the run from La Romana is one hour fifty-five to two hours fifteen through Higüey, so it is worth asking for the larger vehicle if you are four adults with big cases. The price is the Macao zone rate, fixed in writing before you travel, and it is per vehicle rather than per seat.

How long is the drive from LRM to Moon Palace Punta Cana?
1 h 55 – 2 h 15 in normal traffic. Just under two hours east from LRM, ending at the Moon Palace arrivals canopy on the Macao beach road. The car is yours alone, so there are no other pickups or hotel stops on the way.
Where does the driver meet us at Moon Palace Punta Cana?
In the LRM arrivals hall with a name sign, then east along the Macao road to the Moon Palace gate. The driver names your section so you are set down at the right reception rather than the far end of the property.
Is this hotel close to La Romana airport?
Not especially — it is 1 h 55 – 2 h 15 from LRM, out along the eastern coast rather than in the La Romana and Bayahibe cluster. The run is perfectly comfortable in a private car, but it is a long drive, so we dispatch earlier, carry water and build in a comfort stop if you want one. Your vehicle goes straight to Moon Palace Punta Cana with no other pickups.
Is this the same price as Bayahibe?
No — Macao is $135 Standard and $200 VIP one-way per vehicle, while Bayahibe hotels are $40 Standard and $79 VIP. Macao is farther from the airport than Bayahibe, so the rate is $135 / $200, not $40 / $79. If your booking is actually at a Bayahibe resort, tell us the property name on WhatsApp and we quote the Bayahibe rate instead.
Is the drive from La Romana too long for a resort this far north?
It is a real drive — roughly two hours — but it is one continuous private run on good road, with no shuttle stops at other hotels. Travellers who land at LRM are usually out of the terminal in 20 to 35 minutes, which claws back most of the difference against a bigger airport.
Can the driver wait while we stop for supplies?
Yes. A supermarket or ATM stop near Higüey is arranged when you book and adds no charge, only time. Mention it in advance so the driver plans the route.
